I'm using the system for full-time video collection, so certainly not its primary intended use. The system is easy to set up, has good video quality, has a gazillion ways to access and control the system (almost too many). I found the remote ethernet interface to be the most beneficial. The screen interface is somewhat clunky. There's also a modified interface using the local screen with a mouse that is a bit more flexible. It's definitely worth networking and using the remote application. My only gripe, and again, it's not what the system was intended for, is archiving large segments of video. If you effectively want to export and archive video in real time, the local archiver can not keep up, as takes too long to extract. The only acceptable solution is to use the remote monitor with a robust LAN connection and archive from that point. Other than that, the system has been great. Both day and night video at high resolution is clear and crisp. For security, I think this would get the job done.

This 4ch DVR system in my opinion is the best system out there. Very simple to set up, great quality and options of recording. You can view from any PC with internet and adjust your settings over the internet. The motion recording works great, and the nightime IR cameras that come with this package are great. The only set back it the size of the hard drive, with no options to upgrade, but you have an option to overwrite when full. This package is well worth the money with no headaches.
